Tinted Lenses

Colours: Purple, vermillion/rose, brown, grey, yellow, orange & green

Available lens types: Single vision prescription, bifocal, varifocal & non-prescription

Lens information: Our standard tinted lenses offer a great vision for a great price. Whilst they don’t offer any polarisation, they will increase contrast by the very nature of the coloured tint. You may think brown and grey lenses are the best all-round lens colours but, in fact, purple and vermillion/rose tints provide particular benefits for vision when shooting. Please note: All our shooting lenses are made from high quality CR39 plastic. This provides excellent visual clarity and UV protection. It is also available in a wide range of colour tints. We manufacture our shooting lenses slightly thicker than normal lenses for safety reasons.

Tints: Purple lenses work well in a range of light conditions and are known for their ability to neutralise background colours. They define contours and increase contrast by dulling greens and blues, which allows the shooter to see black, orange, pink and white clays better. Purple lenses are also soothing to the eyes and suitable for wearing for long period of time.

Vermillion/Rose lenses work well in overcast and brighter light conditions and are good at dulling background colours. The red tint will filter blue light which makes everything look sharper. Vermillion/Rose lenses are fantastic for highlighting orange and pink clays as they darken the sky and fade out the green background.

Brown & Grey blend well with virtually all frame colours. Brown lenses offer the best vision over a wide range of lighting conditions and really enhance shades of green (i.e. trees, bushes, and grass). Grey lenses are better for high levels of light whilst maintaining true colour perception.

Yellow & Orange increase contrast and brighten vision in low light and overcast conditions. Yellow lenses work superbly in very low light while orange is perfect overcast/mid light. Orange lenses work well for highlighting orange clays.

Green is a general purpose tint and is good at preserving colour balance. Green lenses increase contrast whilst dimming bright light and brightening shadows.

They are the lens of choice for many sports due to their high definition qualities. Brown & Grey blend well with virtually all frame colours. Brown lenses offer the best vision over a wide range of lighting conditions and really enhance shades of green (i.e. trees, bushes, and grass). Photochromic Lenses

Colours: Brown, grey
Available lens types: Single vision prescription, bifocal, varifocal & non-prescription

Lens information: Photochromic lenses have a variable tint and darken and lighten rapidly depending on light conditions. This makes them the perfect choice for many sports. In very low light our photochromic lenses will go virtually clear meaning that they can still offer vital protection whilst maintaining good vision. Our photochromic lenses use Transitions optical technology – as advertised on TV. These lenses are NOT polarised . Please note: All our shooting lenses are made from high quality CR39 plastic which provides excellent visual clarity and UV protection. We manufacture our shooting lenses slightly thicker than normal lenses for safety reasons.

Tints: Brown & Grey are the most popular tints and blend well with virtually all frame colours. Brown lenses offer the best vision over a wide range of lighting conditions and really enhance shades of green (i.e. trees, bushes, and grass). Grey lenses are better for high levels of light whilst maintaining true colour perception.

Mirror Finish Lenses

Colours: silver, gold, blue, ruby rainbow
Available lens types: single vision prescription, non-prescription

Lens information: Our mirror finish not only look good but they are polarised which means they have superb contrast and definition, whilst removing virtually all horizontal glare from reflective surfaces. Whilst our standard polarised lenses tend to be a more popular choice for shooters, these lenses offer a good solution for those that want to use their sports glasses away from the shooting ground too. Please note: All our shooting lenses are made from high quality CR39 plastic which provides excellent visual clarity. We manufacture our shooting lenses slightly thicker than normal lenses for safety reasons.

Tints: Whichever colour you choose to match your frames, all our mirror finish lenses use a grey polarised lens as their base. This offers great contrast and definition whilst maintaining true colour perception. Due to the mirror coating that is applied on top of the lens base, the mirror lenses are darker than a standard grey polarised lenses. This makes them great for mid-high levels of light but not suitable for low levels of light.

Transitions Drivewear (®) Lenses

Colours: Variable tint. Olive green to dark brown
Available lens types: Single vision prescription, bifocal, varifocal & non-prescription

Lens information: Prepared to be impressed! 3-in-1 Transitions Drivewear® lenses were originally designed for the road but their revolutionary optical properties make them perfect for a wide range of sports too. They really are the only sunglasses lens you’ll ever need. From bright sunlight and blinding glare, to cloudy overcast conditions, Drivewear® lenses quickly adjust – providing outstanding visual performance – whatever the weather. Suitable for daytime use only. Protection against UVA and UVB rays.

At the core of the Transitions Drivewear® are lenses that react to changing levels of light. In low light and overcast conditions (where other lenses would struggle) Transitions Drivewear® are a green/yellow colour to provide high contrast and maximize useful light information reaching the eye. As the light increases, the lenses change to a copper shade or dark reddish-brown colour (depending on the amount of light). Brown is a colour which most people find is the most visually comfortable. It is dark enough to remove excess light and provide good detail recognition. It can also improve depth perception.

In bright sunshine, Transitions Drivewear® lenses are designed to change to a dark reddish-brown colour. This offers superior filtration of excess light and to provide increased protection from bright light. The brown colour of the lens enables excellent colour recognition with a special emphasis on highlighting greens. Because green is the most common color in the natural landscape, these lenses provide a great visual experience in the countryside.

The power of polarisation
What makes Drivewear lenses so special is that they combine Transitions® photochromic technology with NuPolar® polarisation technology for the ultimate visual experience. Typically, efficient glare-reducing polarisation only occurs when the lenses are very dark. Transitions Drivewear® lenses combining amazing light enhancing properties with phenomenal horizontal polarisation – meaning that wearers can experience the visual benefits of polarisation even when the lenses are not extremely dark. This was achieved only by pushing polarised manufacturing technologies to new levels of exceptional performance and light transmittance. Transitions Drivewear® lenses are polarised at all times and in all conditions.

The all-round lens
Transitions Drivewear® are the ultimate combination for both sport and driving. The lenses will adjust fully behind the windscreen of the car unlike other photochromic lenses. Visit our driving pages for more information. They also offer superior visual performance for safety and traffic light recognition, plus they are impact, water and chemical resistant to give you the best peace of mind possible.
