Lens information: Polarised lenses increase contrast and remove virtually all horizontal glare from reflective surfaces. They are the lens of choice for many sports due to their high definition qualities. It’s easy to think brown and grey lenses are the best all-round lens colours but, in fact, purple and vermillion/rose tints provide particular benefits for vision when shooting. Please note: All our shooting lenses are made from high quality CR39 plastic. This provides excellent visual clarity and UV protection. It is also available in a wide range of colour tints. We manufacture our shooting lenses slightly thicker than normal lenses for safety reasons.
Tints: Purple lenses work well in a range of light conditions and are known for their ability to neutralise background colours. They define contours and increase contrast by dulling greens and blues, which allows the shooter to see black, orange, pink and white clays better. Purple lenses are also soothing to the eyes and suitable for wearing for long period of time.
Vermillion/Rose lenses work well in overcast and brighter light conditions and are good at dulling background colours. The red tint will filter blue light which makes everything look sharper. Vermillion/Rose lenses are fantastic for highlighting orange and pink clays as they darken the sky and fade out the green background.
Brown & Grey blend well with virtually all frame colours. Brown lenses offer the best vision over a wide range of lighting conditions and really enhance shades of green (i.e. trees, bushes, and grass). Grey lenses are better for high levels of light whilst maintaining true colour perception.
Yellow & Orange increase contrast and brighten vision in low light and overcast conditions. Yellow lenses work superbly in very low light while orange is perfect overcast/mid light. Orange lenses work well for highlighting orange clays.
Green is a general purpose tint and is good at preserving colour balance. Green lenses increase contrast whilst dimming bright light and brightening shadows.
NOTE: Sadly, due to escalating costs and continued supply issues, we will soon no longer be able to offer coloured polarised lenses in Yellow, Orange, Vermillion/Rose and Purple.
At the moment we have a very limited amount of single vision prescription and non-prescription lenses of these colours in stock – at £20 off – but once they have gone, that’s it* ~ so please don’t delay!
