Lens information: The material used for our shooting lenses is 10 times impact resistant than the plastic used for normal lenses. We use a mixture of polycarbonate and Trivex which are both extremely lightweight, shatter-proof (SP) and virtually unbreakable. Both also offer outstanding UV protection. Our tinted shatter-proof (SP) lenses don’t offer any polarisation but they will increase contrast by the very nature of the coloured tint. Whilst you may think brown and grey lenses are the best all-round lens colours, in fact, purple and orange/red tints provide particular benefits for vision when shooting.
Tints: Purple lenses work well in a range of light conditions and are known for their ability to neutralise background colours. They define contours and increase contrast by dulling greens and blues, which allows the shooter to see black, orange, pink and white clays better. Purple lenses are also soothing to the eyes and suitable for wearing for long period of time.
Orange lenses increase contrast and brighten vision in overcast/mid light conditions and work well for highlighting orange clays.
Brown & Grey blend well with virtually all frame colours. Brown lenses offer the best vision over a wide range of lighting conditions and really enhance shades of green (i.e. trees, bushes, and grass). Grey lenses are better for high levels of light whilst maintaining true colour perception.
Yellow lenses work superbly in very low light.
Green is a general purpose tint and is good at preserving colour balance. Green lenses increase contrast whilst dimming bright light and brightening shadows.
Please note: Shatter-proof lenses are much more effective with an anti-glare coating. We would highly recommend checking this option in the extras section on the order panel.
Vermillion/Rose Lenses: Our vermillion/rose tinted shatter-proof (SP) lenses are sadly currently unavailable due to technical issues. Please contact us for more information or further options.
